‘De Landvrouw’ is a series about Nynke Postma (1902-1980), female farmer in Piaam, Friesland. The original family consisted of father, mother, four sisters and a foster brother. Mother died in 1941 and one by one the children married and left the parental home. Except for Nynke, who never married and continued to live on the farm. When her father also died, she ran the farm on her own. Until she couldn’t take it anymore.

‘Nei wurk dien’ means ‘After work done’ in Frisian. It refers to those little moments of unwinding after hard work of farm life.
