With her smokey voice, strong lyrics and sober alt-folk craft Amsterdam singer-songwriter VanWyck has drawn comparisons with Leonard Cohen, Natalie Merchant and Laura Marling. She released her first EP Tanned Legs in 2015 to international acclaim. Her debut album, An Average Woman, came out in January 2018 on her own Maiden Name Records and was hailed by the Dutch music press as one of the best releases by a native artist in years.

This fine art is offered in an authorized, signed and numbered limited edition of 5 images. There is no other size edition. There are no unauthorized, unsigned and/or unnumbered impressions. There are 2 additional ‘artist proofs’ outside the regular edition. The original digital file has not been destroyed. The photographer reserves the right to reproduce prints outside the limited edition for promotional purposes, in books, magazines, exhibitions and press cards. These reproductions are not considered originals but may augment the value of your original.

Description

Portrait of singer-songwriter VanWyck whom I photographed several times. She is an amazing woman searching her way through the musical landscape dominated by men and seems to succeed. Fortunately, because there is no one who makes more beautiful music.
