For the production of etching plates and photopolymer gravures (also toyobo etchings) I work together with top etching printer Eric Levert. Toyobo is a special printmaking technique where a digital file is exposed on a light-sensitive layer. The image is then washed out in water. The plate is a negative and can then be printed as a (positive) etching in circulation. It gives deep dark prints with a beautiful texture. With the ancient Chine-collé technique the image is transferred onto a surface that is bonded onto a heavier support in the printing process. Ultra thin Japanese paper pasted on the heavy cotton etching paper gives the artwork its beautiful color.

This fine art is offered in an authorized, signed and numbered limited edition of 5 images. There is no other size edition. There are no unauthorized, unsigned and/or unnumbered impressions. There are 2 additional ‘artist proofs’ outside the regular edition. The original digital file has not been destroyed. The photographer reserves the right to reproduce prints outside the limited edition for promotional purposes, in books, magazines, exhibitions and press cards. These reproductions are not considered originals but may augment the value of your original.

Is it ever possible for the human species to emulate nature when it comes to art? In this series I wonder about the beauty of nature.
